Word Write Visit

By Rhy Wiethe

It was a cold Friday morning as a couple business clad PRSSA members travelled up the Mon to the river city. Right in the center of downtown Pittsburgh, the public relations firm Word Write prepared to host PR students from WVU and Duquesne.

Word Write

When we entered Word Write, we were greeted by the staff and interns. The modern style of their space created a casual, relaxed, and comfortable atmosphere. The brightly colored walls reinforced one of Word Write’s Core Values: optimism. As we toured the space, we were astonished at the building’s full-size gym, kitchenette, lounge area, and game room. The comment was made that if this is how all businesses treat their employees, we all want in! Next, we were given a presentation by Word Write’s CEO, Paul Furiga. He divulged his story on how he decided to found Word Write, and he also let us in on his trademarked system to success. Word Write’s team helps the client explore their “Capital S Story” by finding an archetype that relatively matches each client’s mission and helping strengthen the brand based on this story.

At the end of our visit, we spent time networking with different Word Write employees and collecting different items of swag like stickers and pens. Everyone on the trip was grateful to Word Write for taking time out of their busy day to meet with us. Visits like these truly help guide us on our path after graduation.
